The Department of English conducted competitions to commemorate “International Mother Language Day” on 21st February, 2024. To celebrate the day, a video was played to exhibit the origin and signification of the mother language and everyone’s responsibility in preserving the mother language and culture. As a part of the celebration, an Eloquence and extended with Translation competitions were conducted for the students. The students were highly enthusiastic in their participation.
The Eloquence focussed on the theme of the condition of the mother language, culture and the need to preserve them. For Translation competition, the organising team distributed the pamphlet which was about human evolution and cognitive changes. The students translated the given paragraphs in their mother languages like Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu. A total of 66 students participated in the competition
