PG Department of Commerce, organized a One-Day Industrial Visit to Hatsun Agro Product Limited, Redhills, Thiruvallur on 23rd February 2026. The visit was arranged as part of the academic curriculum to provide experiential learning and practical exposure to students.
The programme commenced at 9.15 a.m. in the College Administrative Block. The students were formally hosted and briefed about the objectives of the visit. The industrial visit was organized under the guidance of Dr.P.Satheesh Babu, Professor & Head, PG Department of Commerce, and Dr.V.Navaneetha Kannan, Head, Department of Commerce. A total of 28 IIM.Com students participated in the visit along with faculty members.
Objectives of the Industrial Visit
To bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial practices
To provide firsthand exposure to large-scale dairy production
To understand operational, marketing, and financial strategies in the FMCG sector
To familiarize students with quality control and supply chain management systems
Industrial Exposure and Learning Experience
Upon arrival at the plant in Redhills, the officials of Hatsun Agro Product Limited warmly welcomed the students and faculty members. The session began with a comprehensive presentation covering the company’s history, evolution, growth trajectory, and strong market presence in the dairy and FMCG sectors. Students were introduced to the company’s flagship brands, procurement network, cold chain logistics, and technological advancements adopted in production and distribution.
The guided plant tour provided students with direct exposure to various operational processes, including:
Milk procurement and quality testing procedures
Processing and pasteurization techniques
Homogenization and standardization methods
Automated packaging systems
Cold storage and warehousing facilities
Distribution and logistics management
Hygiene protocols and safety standards maintained within the plant

An engaging interactive session followed the plant visit. Students actively participated and clarified their queries related to:
