About Event

The Department of other Languages conducted an Inter – Collegiate Poster Making Competition on the theme of “Evaluation and Scope of Hindi and French Languages” on 22ndSeptember 2023 at Drawing Hall. Mr.M.K.Vijayaragavan, Head, Department of Other Languages delivered the welcomed address.  Prof. K.Mathiyazhagan, Vice Principal, inaugurated the competition and motivated the participants to use their best faculty to prepare the poster. Dr.K.Siva Sankar, Head, Department of English, explained the title of the competition to help participants to make their posters better.  Mrs. N. Uma Maheswari, Assistant Professor of French briefed about the significance of competition.
The Competition was aimed to create a awareness of learning the Languages also to provide a platform for the students to exhibit their creative techniques in Poster Making.
. Mr. V. Umashankar, Artist – Contemporary Painter, Cholamandal Artist Village was the invited Judge of the Competition.
23 Teams from various Colleges like SDNB Vaishnav College for Women, Anna Adarsh College for Women, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, SRMIST – KTR, Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College, Sri Kanyaka Parmeshwari Arts and Science College for Women, DRBCCC Hindu College, A M Jain College, Chevalier t. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women and MOP Vaishnav College for Women participated in the Competition.
Heads of various Departments visited the venue of the Competition and encouraged the participants.
The winners of the competition were selected based on their Content, Creativity and Presentation. Dr. Sherin John Joseph, Head, Department of Biotechnology and Mrs. N. Uma Maheswari, Assistant Professor of French were the additional Judges of the Competition. Dr.R.Vasudevaraj, Principal of the College awarded the Winners of the Competition  with Rs.2000/-, Rs.1500/- and Rs.1000/-  for securing the First, Second and Third places respectively.
Dr. R. Rathidevi, Coordinator of Fine Arts Club, her team members and  volunteers assisted the department for the successful conduct of the competition. The participants expressed that the event was interesting and induced their creative spark.
Mrs. N. Uma Maheswari, Assistant Professor of French delivered the vote of thanks and competition was wound up with the National Anthem.
