The Department of other Languages conducted Collage making Competition on the theme of ‘Literary Personalities of French and Hindi’ on 25th March 2022 at Drawing Room. Mr. M. K. Vijayaragavan, Head, Department of Hindi and Mrs. N. Uma Maheswari, Assistant Professor of French briefed about the significance of Collage making and the advantage of learning other languages to enhance their creative skill and widen their career opportunity beyond the State. The Competition was aimed to provide a platform for the students to exhibit their creative techniques of art production using waste materials like old newspapers, broken glasses, thread, and old plastic bottles. Around 60 students from various disciplines participated in the competition. Mr. P. Natarajan, Head, Department of Visual Communication inaugurated the competition and motivated the participants to develop the habit of creating a new product from waste to make the planet free from pollution with their creative skills. Prof. K. Mathiyazhagan, Vice Principal, and Heads of various Departments visited the venue of the Competition and encouraged the participants to produce attractive and useful products from discarded materials. The winners of the competition were selected based on their creative thinking skills to the theme, Usage of waste materials, and presentation of their product. Dr. R. Rathidevi, Coordinator of Fine Arts Club, and Mr. V. UmaShankar, Assistant Professor of Visual Communication were the Judges of the Competition. The participants expressed that the event was very interesting and induced their creative spark.
