The Department of Biotechnology conducted the webinar on “Pandemic- Lessons and Opportunities, Being ready for a Post-COVID Workforce” for the students and teaching faculties. The meeting was held through Google meet on 05 June, 2020 at 5.00 P.m. The speaker was Ms. Sherin John Joseph, Head, Department of Biotechnology, SRM Arts and Science college, Chennai. A general awareness of COVID-19 infection, successes, failures and lessons learned during COVID-19 pandemic were discussed in this session. Total number of participants was 207 including students and staffs. The e-certificate was provided to all the registered participants. The students came to know the efforts taken by the Government to prevent the spread of infection.
Students and faculties learned the lessons from past pandemics such as social distancing, compulsory wearing masks, washing hands regularly and avoiding public gatherings. The coronavirus pandemic has taught a lesson to the world that being self-reliant is also necessary.
