Faculty Industry Immersion Program(FIIP)

A Faculty Industry Immersion Program was organized by Department of Management studies, SRM Arts and Science College at Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) with the objective of providing practical exposure and industry insights to faculty members. The program was attended by Dr. N. Janani, Dr. K. Thirumalvalavan, Dr. R. Malarvizhi, and Dr. V. Balamurugan for 3 Days (10^th to 12^th December 2025).

The immersion program was well structured and highly informative, offering an in-depth understanding of the operational, technical, and managerial aspects of metro rail systems. During the three-day program, the faculty members had the opportunity to visit all 12 departments of CMRL, gaining comprehensive exposure to various functional areas such as operations, signaling, rolling stock, electrical systems, safety, maintenance, control systems, and customer services.

A special highlight of the program was the live train ride experience, which enabled the faculty members  to observe real-time operations, safety protocols, and passenger management practices. The interactions with industry experts and professionals were highly enriching and provided valuable insights into industry standards, technological advancements, and best practices followed by CMRL.

The knowledge and exposure gained through this immersion program will greatly contribute to improving teaching methodologies, curriculum enrichment, and fostering industry-academia collaboration.

In conclusion, the Faculty Industry Immersion Program at CMRL was extremely beneficial and successful, offering meaningful experiential learning and strengthening the practical knowledge of the participating faculty members.
