The auspicious Navratri Festival is the celebration of the nine nights of Goddess Durga and her myriad forms. In the months of September – October every year, the goddess is worshipped as a way to seek her blessings and to bring her eternal protection over us.
Navratri was celebrated in our college from 02nd October to 12th October 2024 at Valliammai Hall. The hall was turned into the traditional Golu place and was adorned with various flowers, and the smell of divinity wafted through air. The event is commemorated every year to propel the significance of spiritual practice to all.
The various departments of the college, the Admin office, and non-teaching members were allocated specific days in groups to organize the celebration. Every day the celebration usually started with distinct Kolam, lighting the lamp, unique flower decorations, archanai, music, and dance from the students of the Fine Arts Club. The staff members allocated for the particular day took dedicated concern in creating the perfect Thamboolam to be distributed. The event ended every day with the distribution of Prasadham.
The students showed their unwavering support and dedication by creating life-like structures of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Siva statue, and millet Pillayar. These artworks were appreciated by visitors from various institutions of SRM groups.
The Pot painting works by the Department of Visual Communication deserves its own gratitude. Special thanks to the organizing committee and the maintenance team for their complete co-operation.
