UV-VIS SPECTROPHOTOMETER 119/PC Based (SYSTRONICS): II nd year Post Graduate students (M.Sc., Applied Microbiology) analysing the DNA sample by UV-VIS Spectrophotometer. It’s an instrument that measures the substance concentration, such as protein, DNA or RNA, growth of bacterial cells, and enzymatic reactions.

LABORATORY SHAKER: III rd year B.Sc., students are using orbital shaker to obtain uniform distribution of microbial growth. An orbital shaker has a circular shaking motion with a slow speed (25-500 rpm). It is suitable for culturing microbes, washing blots, and general mixing or agitates substances in flask with fixed RPM.

BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE (MAGNUS/MLX-plus): Students from III rd year B.Sc., Microbiology are preparing a fungal slide to identify the organism under the Binocular Microscope. It's an optical microscope with two eyepieces to significantly magnify the image and cut down on eye strain. It is used to observe small objects, cells and microorganisms.

INOCULATION CHAMBER: Under aseptic condition I st year B.Sc., Microbiology student are inoculating the bacterial culture on a culture media using inoculation chamber.

SHAKER INCUBATOR (REMI/RIS-24 plus): The Department of Microbiology having an advanced type of shaker cum incubator in PG Laboratory. It aerates and agitates at optimal condition (Temperature & RPM). In many cases, a laboratory will add a shaker to the lab, but shaking incubators are another good option.

PG Lab - INOCULATION CHAMBER:II nd year M. Sc., Applied Microbiology student is pouring the fungal culture media under the Laminar Air Flow using inoculation chamber, which is used to create microbial free atmosphere with Ultraviolet germicidal light.

GENERAL LAB - The Department boasts a team of highly efficient and well qualified teaching faculty. Staff members are demonstrating the staining technique to I st year M.Sc., Applied Microbiology students in General Microbiology Laboratory. The students are observing the bacterial cells by using Bright Field Microscope (MAGNUS/MLX-plus).

STORE ROOM: The Department of Microbiology is provided with all types of chemicals, microbial culture media, staining reagents, glassware's etc., which is essential to conduct a practical class for UG and PG students. The department laboratory technicians are well trained, supportive and passionate about doing their work.

COOLING CENTRIFUGE (REMI): Students from II nd year B.Sc., centrifuging the bacterial culture to isolate the DNA with the help of cooling centrifuge, which is a device that uses centrifugal force to separate various components of a fluid. It additionally provides working at low temperature for effective extraction of DNA and to maintain the uniform temperature throughout the operation of the sample.

HOT AIR OVEN: Students from II nd year M.Sc., Applied Microbiology are sterilizing the glass wares using Hot Air Oven. It is an instrument generally used to sterilize all types of glassware's at temperature 160ºC for 1hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.

State of the art research laboratories are important features of the college so that students may get a better insight into scientific theories of Microbiology. This enhances the inherent inquisitiveness of the student and energizes him to examine uncharted paths.  We have spacious laboratories equipped with 70 modern microscopes, shaker cum incubator, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, electrophoresis units, different type of centrifuge, deep freezers and 4 Laminar Air Flow Chambers etc., The laboratory also contains a separate lab for molecular biology with latest equipment’s. Replete with all requisite gadgets, the laboratory provides an excellent ambience for under graduate and post graduate students to pursue project works. The sterilized laboratory offer facilities to undertake all types of practical work using different microorganisms.
