The International Conference on Trends in Biological Sciences: Impetus on Human Health ICBS-2023 was organized by the Departments of Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Microbiology, SRM Arts and Science College on 12^th and 13^th October 2023. Day 1 conference began with the Inaugural Ceremony at Valliammai Hall. The Chief Guest for the Inaugural ceremony and the Keynote Speaker was Dr. Rohini Karunakaran, Senior Associate Professor, Biochemistry and Medical Education, Deputy Dean -Academic and International affairs at AIMST University , Malaysia. The Conference Proceedings was released by the Chief Guest Dr. Rohini Karunakaran, Dr. S. Ramachandran, Director Academics, Dr. R. Vasudevaraj Principal, Prof. K. Mathiazhagan, Vice principal and Dr. Sherin John Joseph, Convenor ICBS. The second invited talk was by the Guest speaker Dr. K. Padmavathy, Professor, Dept. of Microbiology, Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, Chennai. Day 2 Invited Talk guest speakers were Dr. Samuel Raj, Registrar, Dean Academic affairs, Registrar, SRMIST, Delhi-NCR campus, Haryana, Dr. Ondari Erick Nyakundi, Head, Department of Biological Sciences, School of Pure and Applied Sciences, Kisii University, Kenya followed by Dr. Saiprasad Gowrikumar, Research Instructor, Department of Molecular Biology, University of Nebraska Medical Centre, USA.

A total of 290 registered Indian and foreign delegates from 39 institutions actively participated in International Conference. Totally 168 abstracts were received including 96 oral presenters, 10 young scientist award applicants and 72 poster teams.

 Various eminent Indian and foreign speakers shared their insights through Invited Talk Sessions. The Conference sessions highlighted the emerging trends in biological research that contributed to improving human health and well-being. The field of Biological Sciences is revolutionizing human health worldwide, ushering in an era of unprecedented possibilities. The world saw the greatest pandemics of modern times and amazing breakthroughs made through technology and remarkable strides made in biological research. Collectively, they are reshaping the landscape of human health, This International conference therefore, was successful at

bringing delegates working under the various fields of biology to come together to discuss, share and dissipate knowledge in the latest trends in biological sciences. Many participants gave positive feedback about two days International conference and the hospitality provided by the organizers. Day 2 conference concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony wherein Dr. V. Ramakrishnan, Professor, Genetics, Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, Chennai was the Chief Guest. On both days Cultural programs were organized by the Fine Arts Club- Nritya celebrating Indian Heritage, showcasing traditional dance forms. The 2 days of conference was a fruitful learning and collaborative experience for delegates and organizers.

Objectives of the program
