The international day of mathematics aims to showcase the fundamental role played by the mathematical science in the achievement of the united nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Pi (ℼ) has been calculated to over 50 trillion digits beyond its decimal points as an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. The pi day celebrated on 14th march of the every year. The Department of mathematics has celebrated the International day of Mathematics (ℼ day) on 17.03.2022 from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. As part of the celebration, it organized Poster Presentation and Mathematical Models competitions for Inter-departmental students. Totally 16 teams for Poster Presentation and 8 teams for Models participated from all the departments. Students of life science and commerce showed overwhelming interest in presenting the Posters and Models. Mr. G. Akilraj, Scientific Researcher from SRM Institute of Science Technology was the Chief Guest of the competitions. Best three posters and models are awarded.
