The Department of Management Studies in collaboration with Life Insurance Corporation of India organized an awareness program to the heads of various women self-help groups under the theme, “Social Development Work for Women Self-help Groups” on 28th April, 2022. The program aimed to create awareness on the significance of life insurance policies. Ms. M. Pavithra, Assistant Professor of the department welcomed the Chief Guests, Mr.P. Selvamuthukumaran, Chief Manager and Mr .S. Sivakumar, Assistant Chief Manager of LIC City Branch Office, Chennai. The Chief Guests addressed the gathering about the different LIC policies like Aadhar Sheela, Jeevan Umang, Jeevan Arogya and micro insurance. They emphasized on the vision of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, ”One policy in the pocket of every Indian”. They briefed about the ways to revive an LIC policy. They also advised that anyone can join hands with LIC by becoming an LIC agent. The participants were given the opportunity to clarify their doubts from the chief guests. The program was followed by a session on Soft Skills which was presented by Dr. Santhanakrishnan, Placement Officer of our college. The day ended with a session on ‘Secure Online Money Transaction’ hosted by Dr. Shoba, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. Nearly fifty women actively participated in these sessions and had an enriching experience. Dr. R. Vasudevaraj, Principal, Prof. K. Mathiyazhagan, Vice Principal of the college and Dr. J. Saravanan , Head of the Department graced the occasion with their presence. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr . K. Ravikumar, Assistant Professor of the Department of Management Studies.
