SRM ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE celebrated Pongal Festival on 10^th January at the college campus. Our college Principal Dr. R. Vsaudevaraj, Advisor of Fine Arts Club Mr.K. Mathiyazhagan and All the Heads of various departments guided Faculties and Students for all the arrangements and to complete the celebration in a successful way.  Our celebration started by 10A.M. In this celebration students prepared Pongal in the traditional way with the help of staff members. Nearly twelve departments took part in this, All the department students took part in Pongal celebration, It was a fun filled celebration which, brought the importance of this festival celebration. This celebration was to bring out the Student talent other than studies and make them to know about the harvest festival’s importance. Students came in traditional dress that provided more attraction to this celebration.

Cultural events started with a welcome speech in a great way. Various cultural events like Dance, vocal songs with instrumental playing, MIME, Bow song and Silambam were staged by our college students. Students from all Departments of our College took part in it. Finally Stage events ended with a vote of thanks. After that prepared Pongal was served and worshiped Sun to convey our thanks for everything giving to us. Our College Teaching, Non-teaching Staff members and Students from various departments of our college made the event a successful one.
