Department of English organized a One day Faculty Development Programme on theme of ‘Adapting better Pedagogy to engross the students in the Class’ on 10th August 2019 at Seminar Hall. The FDP was aimed to provide the Faculties the opportunity and a strong platform to enhance their Teaching-Learning Skills to handle the students better in the classroom by engrossing them effectively in the subject being taught.  Dr. R. Vasudevaraj, Principal of the College gave the welcome and presidential address. In his presidential address, he highlighted the challenges faced by the teachers and the teachers’ responsibilities in moulding the students as better graduates and a responsible citizen to serve the society in the future. Dr. Edamana Prasad, Head, Teaching Learning Centre, IIT – Madras was the resource person of the Programme.  He interacted with the faculties and encouraged them to exchange their ideas on teaching the students. His lecture on how a teacher needs to design and teach the lesson to achieve the outcome of the lesson was very useful for the faculties and received an overwhelming response. Around 120 faculties participated in the programme and learned how they could teach the lesson better for the students. On the whole the FDP received a lot of positive feedback from the faculties and paved the way for them to implement it in their teaching. The FDP was concluded with vote of thanks and the National Anthem.
