The Department of Biochemistry organized a Webinar on 22.02.2021 at 11.00AM over Google meet on the topic “Recent Trends in Biomedicine”. It was an experience sharing webinar presented by Dr. Aneesh Nair a Young and dynamic Scientist from Biozone Research Institute of Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. The Webinar was started with a Welcome Address and Chief Guest introduction by Dr. B. Arirudran, Head of the Department of Biochemistry. Dr. R. Vasudevaraj, Principal, SRM Arts and Science College, in his felicitation address appreciated the department for organizing the webinar aimed at giving awareness about Covid-19 to the faculty members and the participants. Dr. Aneesh Nair, the resource person delivered his presentation on Covid-19, its impact in the world and some of the challenges faced by the researchers in diagnosing the virus.
The Webinar was highly useful and appreciated by the participants as it focused on the latest diagnostic tools and techniques in biomedicine. The vote of thanks of the Programme was delivered by Mrs. M. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry. Faculty, Students and Scholars from our College as well as from other Colleges actively participated in the Webinar. Out of the 185 registered Candidates, around 150 participants from in and around Chennai participated in it. The Webinar was coordinated by Dr. S. Jayakumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry. The Webinar ended around 12.30PM with gratitude from the participants. Participation Certificates were issued to all the active participants of the Webinar.
E-certificates were issued to the participants for their active participation in the Webinar. Webinar’s theme “Recent Trends in Biomedicine” focused on furnishing an awareness about Pandemic and the latest diagnostic tools such as RT PCR used in the clinical laboratories especially to the Life Sciences graduates and students wisely. It is a Novel Programme that also gives awareness among the people in this society about the challenges faced to prevent and cure COVID-19 related cases. The programme was organized to help students and graduates to create awareness among them who are lagging behind to meet to tackle the critical situation during many crises’ and the society in creating a Healthy Nation.
