Department of English conducted Community Extension Programme, ‘The Second Language’, an activity based learning programme on 27th April 2022 at Panchayat Union Middle School, East Potheri for the students of 6th Standard to 8th Standard. The Programme was aimed to highlight the importance of second language to the students for their higher education and to have bright career in future and to develop their communication skills in English. The Faculty of the department conducted various activities and teams games like Riddle, Mind Map, Word Hunt, Vocabulary and Memory, Comprehension, Translation, Find the Missing Letter, Better Reading etc., As a part of the Programme, Refreshment and Lunch were arranged to all the students of the school. The Headmaster and the teachers of the School extended their full support to conduct the programme. Mr. K. Siva Sankar, Head of the Department, Faculty members Mrs. R. Kalpana, Mr. R. Gunasekaran, Dr. K. Janagarraj, Mrs. A. S. Sukanya,  Mr. A. Nanthakumar, Ms. K. Vishnu Priya, Mr. K. Jaganbabu, and Dr. P. Nehru efficiently conducted the activities and encouraged the students to complete the activities. 63 students participated enthusiastically in the programme and received prizes and certificates.
