Department of Biochemistry at SRM Arts and Science College aim to provide practical skills and give a clear insight of what a Biochemist does in different industries, conducts various industrial visits for the students. These visits give first-hand information about industrial production, quality control, safety measures and other important work ethics. In this way, they get a wider picture of the concepts mentioned in the books.

There are numerous industries concerning Biochemistry covering various domains Health care industries like Pharmaceutical industries, Medical biomaterial industries, Diagnostic services, Food Industry, Beverages (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic), Milk and Milk products and many more, Mushroom farming, Recombinant DNA technology, Stem cell technology, Plant Tissue culture Labs, Bioinformatics centre etc.

With a purpose to go beyond academics, industrial visit offers students a practical perspective on the world of work. Students who are pursuing a professional degree in Life Sciences including Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Clinical Research etc.

Objectives of industrial visit are to provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies. We know, theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career.
