A one day Faculty Orientation Program was conducted on 18^th February, 2023 on the topic “SWAYAM PRABHA & SWAYAM MOOCs- An Integral Part of Education” at Valliammai Hall, SRM ASC. The invited resource persons were Dr. Arulchelvan Sriram, Director, Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), UGC-CEC, Anna University Chennai and Dr. Dhamodharan Umapathy, Academic Coordinator, DAKSH-SWAYAM PRABHA DTH & SWAYAM MOOCs, UGC-CEC, EMRC, Chennai. The objective of the Orientation program was to raise awareness of the increasing scope of digitalization of education in India. The program raised awareness among the faculty members on how to apply and take part in UGC sponsored programs such as SWAYAM PRABHA DTH and SWAYAM MOOCs.
A total of 118 faculty members participated in this orientation program. The faculty members discerned the various subjects available for MOOCs and SWAYAM PRABHA applications, eligibility criteria and application procedures.
