Women’s Entrepreneurship Day 2021 was organized by Department of Management Studies and Entrepreneur Development Cell on 24th November, 2021 at 10.00 a.m. Nearly 120 students of the department attended the event. Young and eminent entrepreneurs Mrs.Kathiyayini Prakash, founder of Sai Kalyan Creations and Mrs.Preetha Rajalakshmi, founder of Aavyukth Cow Products were invited as Chief Guests.
Dr. J. Saravanan, Head of the Department introduced the chief guests.Welcome Address was given by Mr .P. Elumalai, Associate Professor of the Department of Management Studies.
Mrs.Kathiyayini Prakash enlightened the students about the schemes provided by the government to encourage the budding entrepreneurs. She also shared her experiences in starting the business after quitting the job in a reputed bank. She advised the students to concentrate on traditional products and motivated them to think out of the box. She also added that she used to make a list of strategies which did not yield much returns in the business and work on it. Mrs. Preetha Rajalakshmi who is a software engineer by profession shared the reasons which drove her to choose this business. She said that during the ‘jallikattu’ protest, she realized that our native breedsof cows have been forgotten by our people and so she made up her mind to revive them by starting this business.She conveyed that while rearing local breed cows, she decided to make ‘best out of waste’ and started selling the products made out of cow waste. She also gave a lot of valuable inputs to become a successful entrepreneur. The Chief Guests also clarified the doubts put forward by the students.
At the end of the program, vote of thanks was proposed by Nithyanandham, final year student of MBA department. He delivered special thanks to the resource persons for their valuable information on real time business environment. He showed his gratitude to the Principal who always extends his support in all aspects.
